On September 11, 2001 two planes hit the world trade center buildings in New York City, New York. This attack was led by Osama Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda terrorist orginization.
On the morning of 9/11, terrorists hijacked four commercial jet planes and attempted to fly them into several U.S. targets. The first plane (Airlines Flight 11) hit Tower One at 8:50 am and crashed at 10:30 am. The second plane (Airlines Flight 175) hit the second tower at 9:04am and it crashed at roughly 10 am. The terrorist attack resulted in 3,000 deaths.
After the attack, President George W. Bush called for all of the civilized nations to join together in order to fight the terrorism. The government accused Osama Bin Laden as the main suspect. Controversy rose when President Bush sent troops to Iraq in March of 2003. Bush claimed that the country, being led by Saddam Hussein, was developing weapons of mass destruction and was aiding the Al Qaeda terrorists.
Many still have not recovered from the terrorist attacks of September 11th.
